30th June 2025 - Adding The Pressure

Season #2

Hello, beautiful souls and welcome to today's takeaway. So it is now less than a week before, I am going to womanifest , which I'm super, super excited about. I'm going to be hosting two human design workshops there. I am going to be a model for a catwalk that's taking place for one of the fashion companies that is going to be there, clothing companies. And yeah, it's a full weekend, full on weekend of lots of just women's empowerment stuff, experiences, and lots and lots of talks and just great things going to be going on for the weekend. And so I haven't yet booked my accommodation or my travel and I am feeling the pressure and stress. It's my first task for tomorrow morning is to make sure that I get that done. But I wanted to bring this to the forefront to contemplation because I recognize that the stress and pressure that I'm feeling around this has two components to it.

(01:11)
And those two components are things and patterns that I know that I can address in my business. So the first is this level of pressure and stress could have been avoided by booking my accommodation and travel a lot sooner. I have had months and months to prepare for this event, known I was going to the event, knew that I needed to book travel and accommodation. It was like, yeah, I'll do that next week. Yeah, I'll get that done next week. And I kept pushing it back and pushing it back and look where we are. So first things first. Where are you causing yourself potential additional stress in your business? It might be by delaying doing things and leaving things to the last minute. You might be a last minute bird like me, and especially if you have a defined root center because we can withstand a lot more pressure.

(01:57)
And so we tend to be somebody that leaves things to the last minute and rushes and races against the deadline just because we can withstand that pressure. Whereas somebody with an undefined root center, if you're an undefined route center being, then it's going to feel easier for you to be free of that pressure quicker. So you tend to get things done earlier. You tend to plan in advance, make sure you've got everything organized and sorted to be free of the pressure. Neither of those things that are inherently wrong. But being aware of where perhaps you are currently, giving yourself more pressure and stress than is needed could be really interesting to look at. But it might not just be deadlines or deadline dancing. You might have other areas where you are adding more pressure to yourself. For example, taking on more work than you have capacity for or taking on multiple projects out, fear of missing out, or that might even be multiple courses and programs and things that you're taking part in out of FOMO or for other pressure reasons.

(03:05)
So just have a look where you are actually putting undue additional pressure on yourself in your business at present. And what can you do to minimize that or to reduce that or to eliminate it altogether would be wonderful. The second component to this, I guess, is recognizing that some of these things are reoccurring patterns. I quite often leave things such as building my courses and programs to the very last minute. And like I say, these sorts of things can lead to us feeling stressed out and dysregulated where there may not have been a need to. So notice your patterns around this. What things do you reoccurringly do for me? Like I say, it's leaving it to the last minute, but there may be other things for you that you continuously do, do again and again, or repeat on cycle that maybe it's time to break that cycle to give yourself more space and more breathing time and more preparation. So that's my takeaway for you today. Contemplate that and I'd love to hear what pattern that you might have identified or what stresses you are feeling at the moment that you are going to actually take some time to address.
