9th June 2025 - Let Go of What's Weighing You Down
(00:00):
Hello, beautiful souls and welcome to today's takeaway. So I opened one of my self-awareness books today, and on the page that I opened it up there is a beautiful image that reads, let go of what's weighing you down. And it got me thinking, how often do we hear statements like this? Powerful statements, reminders, reminders to release what is no longer serving us. Reminders that things don't have to be as heavy as we're allowing them to be. Reminders of how powerful we are. And we read them, we feel them momentarily, we nod along, but we don't do anything with them. It's like we have this moment of acknowledgement. Yeah, that's right. And yeah, that feels good and I absolutely should do that, or we should do that more collectively. But the follow through after that is what really makes the difference. So when I read that this morning and was like, let go of what's weighing you down, I stopped and I paused and I pondered what is weighing me down?
(01:02):
Is there anything weighing me down at the moment? What is that weight? And then I committed in that moment to say, what would it take for me to put this down? Is it something that I need to set some boundaries around with a person or myself? Is it something that I need to release from my memory? Is it something that I need to actually create a solution for or a plan for so that I can put it down and know that it's taken care of? What is it that is perhaps weighing you down today? And can you bring some awareness to that? And can you actually address it and pay attention to it so that you can actually let it go? But ultimately, I guess what I'm telling you or sharing with you in this contemplation is that all of these little words of wisdom, these signs that come to us, it might be a Facebook post that you read, or it might be a sign that you saw in a shop window. It could be a message you received from your friends. Wherever those signs come from, how much are you actually taking them? Not just at a logical level, but taking the wisdom and living it. Because really it's the lived wisdom where life begins to change and transform, and where you get to actually feel differently long-term, not just a short endorphin dopamine burst. So sit with that today, play with that today.

That's my contemplation for you.
