17th January 2025 - A Business That Supports The Life You Dream Of

Amber Cherelle (00:00): Hello, beautiful souls and welcome to today's takeaway. So I just had a realization that I almost forgot to record a daily contemplation for you today because I have this morning been going for a pampering session and there wasn't much time between the school run and then getting to my appointment. So I have had a gorgeous eyebrow wax today and then had my nails redone. And there was something in this that is so beautifully powerful because it was a moment of realization of what I've created for myself through my business, through the work that I do and bring to the world, and leading out as an example for other women to show them that motherhood doesn't have to hold them back from the life that they desire to lead. That. In fact, having children is a beautiful, beautiful gift, and it means that we have more reasons to thrive, more reasons to be healthy, more reasons to be wealthy, more reasons to grow, more reasons to really be alive. (01:16): Now, when I first considered starting a podcast, I was going to actually run the podcast as a lead magnet and as a way to build my audience. And I'd named the podcast, I'd created graphics for it, and this podcast might still be birthed into the world. It's just not the right aligned moment for me yet. We'll wait and see. But the name of the podcast was aligned and alive, aligned and alive. And for me, this gives this essence of what I think business is really about. And what I think being an entrepreneurial mom is really about. Imagine that your business goes from this place of feeling like a hard grind, a way to earn an income and a living, something that just pays you money so that you can feed your family and put food in the cupboards and pay the bills and all of those things without having to go and work for somebody else. (02:16): Imagine if it was so much more than that. Imagine if your business was something that didn't just provide you with a means to live, but actually fulfilled your soul, filled your purpose, gave you this deep sense of satisfaction and supported you in all areas of your life, not just your finances. This is where we talk about building a business that adds to the quality of your life, not detracts from it. And that means being really, really clear on what it is that you desire to experience in all life areas, from your love relationships, to your relationships with your children, for your health, for your entertainment, in your friendships, in your spiritual growth, in your personal growth, in your adventures and travel. What are the things and areas of your life that you want to experience greatness in, that you want to experience deep senses of satisfaction or for our reflectors, that deep sense of awe and what makes that for you. (03:26): So for me, there is a huge part of my joy and satisfaction connected to the way that I feel about myself. There are many things that I want to experience in this lifetime, but they all come back to this feeling of being important to this feeling of really mattering to this feeling of being confident in my own skin and who I am. They come back to a feeling of being loved, safe, accepted, held. It comes back to a feeling of being a master at something, creating mastery in my life. And that has been a theme that these themes have stayed with me since childhood. The reasons that I made the friends that I did and went on, the adventures that I went on were because they helped me to feel a sense of tribal connection, a sense of belonging, a sense of acceptance. The reason that I went into the various different jobs, careers, and fields that I've been in over these years, and there's been so many, is because they gave me a sense of passion, lit up excitement, but they also enabled me to grow and deepen this sense of mastery at something to learn new skills, but not just to learn them for the sake of learning them, but to hone them to become better at what I do every single day. (04:46): And the reason that I'm explaining these things to you is because if you are going to build a business that supports you to have the quality of life and the life experiences that you want to have, then the first thing that you have to do is get absolutely clear on what those things are. And so at the beginning of this year, I sat down and I didn't make goals for my business. I want to four times my revenue and I want to do this, and I want to do that. I thought about how I wanted to feel, what I wanted my days to feel like, what I wanted to feel like as a person inside what I wanted my life experience to feel like. And then I looked at my business and said, well, what isn't supporting me and my business to feel that way? (05:28): And what would, and it was that that helped me to make the changes that I've made at the beginning of this year that enabled me to go this morning on a Friday morning after dropping my kids off at school and spend two and a half hours just having some time for self-care and pampering and making myself feel good both inside and out. This is what it means to build a business that supports you to do that, which means that my marketing strategy and my business goals are now all tailored to make sure that those experiences such as a Friday morning pamper session are actually possible and feasible. And it isn't about the money, it's about the time availability. It's about the pleasure that I get in my work. It's about making my work easier, not harder. It's about leveraging the unique skills and gifts that you have to their fullest potential in the easiest way possible for you, and in a way that helps and supports other people that provide services that changes something in the world, but also that changes your life. So my contemplation for you today, really get down to the nitty gritty, not what is it that you want to manifest through your business. Not how much money do you want to make, but what do you want your life experience to be like? Because from that place, you can build a business and structure a business that supports you to actually have and live that life experience. And I'm so grateful for what my business has given me. And I want the same for you too.
