9th January 2025 - Becoming a Conscious Consumer
Amber Cherelle (00:00):
Hello, beautiful souls and welcome to today's takeaway. So today's contemplation starts off in the shadows, the shadows of the open heart center and the shadows of the open splenic center. But don't worry, I will take us through into the light, the wisdom that is to be gleaned in both. So today I spent the majority of the day suffering with, let's say, a self-inflicted migraine and nausea. And it's because the day before I allowed the disempowerment of my ego center, the heart center, which led me to consume foods and drinks that I know do not work with my system, that are not good for me, that do not vibe with me. And that lead me feeling unwell the next day. And it meant that, as some of you all know, I had to reschedule calls yesterday. I spent the day in a very dark room with the lights out, being able only to lift my head enough to walk to the bathroom and back for a good few hours.
(01:15):
And I felt very, very unwell. And for a moment there was this guilt and shame, knowing that I was aware of the consequences of what I was consuming and what my body needs and doesn't need. And yet somehow ignored that for the momentary pleasure, for the momentary satisfaction of the disempowered ego. And so the Open Ego Center or Undefined Ego Center is a gorgeous portal of wisdom. It is here where we learn that our sense of self-worth and our value is not attached to what we do. It's not attached to how much we do or how we show up or what we do for other people or what we think will please other people or sacrificing our own self, our own inner compass for the wants, needs and desires of others, which is where I found myself yesterday. In some ways, it's also the center and wisdom portal, the portal of wisdom for learning about our own levels of motivation.
(02:33):
So for those of you who have a defined will center, you'll tend to be people that are very driven and have a very, like, I can do that attitude. I can try anything. I'll give it a shot. I can do that. Of course I can do that. And for those of us with open or undefined ego centers, the theme that comes up here is inconsistent will. So we don't always have this constant knowing our capabilities, this constant knowing of what we can and will do, and this constant drive and motivation, which means that we will have natural ebbs and flows in our willpower. And in this moment where I've presented with this opportunity to consume something that I love and I enjoy, but I know it isn't good and healthy for my body, I had that ebb in willpower. And so that was kind of one of the first things that I noticed, and I'm going to come back to that in a moment.
(03:35):
But I want to talk also about the Open Spleen center. So I have an undefined spleen, and the spleen is all about wellbeing. It is all about knowing what is good and safe for our bodies. It's about security. It's also about our intuitive knowing of what is good and right for us physically. What is safe for us. Now, for those of us with open spleens, we are very, very good at knowing what is intuitively good for other people. What is intuitively good for their vitality, for their physical health, their wellbeing, what's safe for them, what's not safe for them. And we are also very, very good at not always seeing what we need for ourselves. So some of the disempowerment or conditioning that can happen with the undefined spleen is that putting blinkers on when it comes to our own health and wellbeing. And so the wisdom that I've gained over the years in my open splenic center, which obviously a lot of you will know from it being pillar two of our academy of our sustainable foundations is wellbeing.
(04:36):
And I have gathered a lot of wisdom and lessons over a lifetime around really having more self-awareness about what is good and right for me, and really listening to sacral to guide me on that, for sacral to be my guide through life. Because that is where I find my sustainability as a generator, as a sacral being. So I've had a lot of lessons, a lot of challenges, a lot of shadows around taking care of my own wellbeing, which is why I speak about it so much because I know what it's like to not take care of your wellbeing and to neglect yourself and to not put your needs first. And every now and again, just like all of us, I find myself moving out of alignment. I find some of those shadows, new layers coming up where again, I'm called back into remembering, back into remembering my needs as a human being and not just the needs of others.
(05:29):
And so this is very much my contemplation for today is releasing this or coming back into awareness of those things within my design and the awareness of those things within me and my life, patternings. But also I want to bring this contemplation to you as defined or undefined, splenic and ego, center driven beings, just to bring into awareness of this fact that what we put into our bodies matters. How we treat this vessel, this vehicle that our soul is moving through this lifetime in is so crucially important to the experience that we have here. And a big part of human design is we are going to explore in our nutrition by design session in a few days time, a big part of human design is actually the body. And we cannot expect the body to guide us, or we cannot expect to be connected and deeply connected to our body wisdom if we are not nurturing the body itself, feeding the vessel itself in a way that sustains us in a way that is aligned for us in a way that actually leads to our body being at its most optimal condition for our success.
(06:40):
And one of the things that came from this contemplation for me today was the concept of being a creator, not a consumer, and being a conscious consumer. So where we are consuming, how are we consciously consuming? So I put this contemplation to you today. What are the things that you are allowing into your body? Now this might be food and drink, it might be other things such as tv, things that you are listening to, hearing. Where are you consuming over consuming on things like social media or TV or news and things like that, that actually aren't good for you, that aren't healthy for you, or in amounts that aren't healthy for you? Where have you moved away from conscious consumption in your life, so much so that it might be affecting your wellbeing, or so much so that it might be affecting your sense of value and your knowing and your self-worth?
(07:35):
So many things that we consume, not just food and drinks and other things like that, but so many things that we consume in all formats, be it information, be it visual things, actually isn't great for us, isn't great for who we want to be, isn't great for who we were designed to be and can lead us to entering these states of disempowerment. So today it's just to reflect, to reflect on where you are consuming unintentionally, unconsciously, where you may be over consuming on things that aren't well for you, and setting some intentions to reduce those things or to let go of them completely. Okay, beautiful soul. So I'll leave that with you and I'll see you in tomorrow's takeaway.
